A community appreciation dinner for Hamilton County volunteer fi refi ghters and their families will be held Saturday, September 26, at 5:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church Hamilton Youth & Family Life Center, located at 220 S. Bell St. in Hamilton. The dinner is being planned as a way for the Hamilton County community to express gratitude for the service, courage, and hard work of local volunteer fi refi ghters, especially in response to the Rio Escondido fi re. All Hamilton County volunteer fi refi ghters and their families are invited to attend. Organizers are asking each department to provide an approximate headcount by Wednesday at noon so that enough food can be prepared. While the dinner will be hosted at First Baptist Church Hamilton, the event is intended as a community-wide expression of appreciation for the men and women who serve across Hamilton County.
